Knowing where to find the best decor for your curated home is a skill that can take a lifetime to pull together. A Midwest shop that must have a spot on your retail checklist is The 715 in downtown Hudson, WI. We came upon this gem on a recent trip to Wisconsin and ended up spending more than more than an hour in the two-level retail space, and found so many unique items in every nook and corner.

Meet the owner
Kendra Wiesmeyer owns The 715 and has been running the family-owned small business for the past five years. She grew up working in the retail industry, as her mother ran a retail shop, and it became a passion for Kendra to her own shop someday. When she landed on her urban rustic home decor theme, opening a store to fit the aesthetic was second nature to her. In addition to The 715, Kendra expanded her retail knowledge and opened a high-end women’s clothing store called Grace and Grit on the same street.

Urban Rustic Products
At The 715 you will find unique artwork to outfit your walls in the way of prints and frames, along with tabletop and floor sculptures. Beautifully-curated pillows, blankets, rugs, and all types of décor are available to help make home a reflection of your personality. Light fixtures are a top selling item and Kendra has become a useful resource for interior designers through the Midwest, who frequent The 715 for their clients. There is always something new and fresh to see each month when new shipments arrive, and inventory doesn’t stick around for long.

Often retailers carry the same or similar items you see in everyone’s homes. To stay true to her style, Kendra travels to Las Vegas twice a year to source the latest designs and pieces that feel right for her store. Not all of the products she stocks come from these tradeshows, but they help her staying ahead of the design curve, offer inspiration, and opportunities to connect with other retailers from across the country.

Versatility in design
Although the vibe at The 715 shouts “urban rustic,” the home decor Kendra carries can complement almost any home as standalone pieces or as part of a larger tableau. When we saw this this “be out guest” pillow, we knew the perfect spot for it at the Lissadee on Lake Drive home. This home is Scandinavian modern design, and the décor from The 715 fits beautifully throughout.

We love local shops with stylish owners that source uncommon stock that changes out frequently, offering a fresh experience each time you visit. The 715 is definitely a shop on our list to check out each season and visit again and again.
